Notes:
(+) Vision
Hall does a good job of pressing the line of scrimmage, setting up his blocks, and finding a lane. His ability to process and make cuts with great timing also standouts.
(+) Contact Balance
My RB2 last season (Javonte Williams) graduated with a PhD in breaking tackles, and it appears that Hall is well on his way to receiving a doctorate of his own. At 6’ 1” and 220 pounds, Hall is incredibly tough to bring down.
(+) Outside Zone
Hall has a lot of experience with outside zone, and if the Jets’ backfield fails to deliver a competent rush game—which I’m hopeful they will—Hall is a name that will undoubtedly be linked to the Jets come draft season; Outside Zone is his bread and butter.
(-) Pass protection
The effort is there, but the technique is not; he has some work to do.
(-) Receiving
The scheme doesn’t afford him many opportunities in the passing game, but I’d like to see a little more in this respect before calling him a 3-down back.
(-) Between the tackles
Iowa State is OZ heavy, and I’d like to see more inside runs to get a better assessment of Hall’s all-around skill set.
