Projection: 1st Round
Notes:

(+) Anchor Kirkland has a sturdy anchor. You are wasting your time trying to bull rush this guy.  Great feet and strong hands give him such a good base that make him a rock in pass pro.

(+) Technique Kirkland is not a premium athlete but his technique is very polished.  Very rarely is he off balance or showing poor hand placement.  Can very easily see him hitting the ground running in the NFL.

(+) Versatility Kirkland is a good athlete, has great size and length, and is solid in both the run and pass game. He can play any scheme in the NFL and do it well.

(-) Quickness Speed rushers give Kirkland the most issues and it comes from just a lack of footspeed.  He needs to show he can get off  quicker as you will see plenty of these in the NFL.

(-) Aggression Kirkland for as solid as he is you want him to be in attack mode more.  He too often lets defenders come to him and fend them off instead of engaging them and trying to dominate them.

(-) Sample Size Kirkland’s 2020 was awesome and it was his best tape by far.  But due to the Pac 12 schedule and Washington’s Covid issues it was 4 games.  Want to see that dominant play for a real full season.
